Internet Test Has No Graphics

I am using a webpage created on TaskStream.com. After creating an internet test using EV version 4.0.6, I attached the .htm file to the webpage.

There was no way to copy the supporting file folders, so I also attached each of the supporting files from the related folder (a very time-consuming process). After all that, the graphics still did not appear in the test.

Is there any way I can use TaskStream and attach the entire folder to the linked internet test, so that the test appears with graphics?

When ExamView generates an HTML test or study guide, it places supporting image files in a sub-folder with same name as the HTML file and appends _files (e.g., if you name your test chapter1.htm, ExamView will create a sub-folder named chapter1_files). For each image, the .htm file contains a reference that depends on this folder name; so, the images must be left inside this folder, and the folder must be copied to the web server along with the .htm file. If you rename the chapter1_files folder or attempt to eliminate the folder and relocate the contents, the images will not display.

I have never used TaskStream, so I don't know the specifics of how that product works. TaskStream is in a much better position to answer this question, so I would suggest you contact TaskStream.

I am not clear on this - my test does not show the submit button graphics and I can not see how to copy that folder into my website as well as the actual test.

When ExamView creates an HTML test, it creates the HTML file and a folder with the same name as the HTML file. This folder contains the supporting graphics and must be uploaded along with your test.

If you are using the Learning and Test Center (our hosting service), this happens automatically.

So if I can only post files and not folders to my class website (we use Echalk) there is no other way to give an online test with graphics? This is not good for math since all the tests provided with the program contain graphics.

Also i dont know if my school or school district is signed up for the test hosting site. Is there any way to find out through your company?

That is correct--all graphic files are stored in a subfolder. This is the standard for websites. I would be surprised if eChalk did not allow you create subfolders...have you contacted their technical support?

I have been using a test for 3 years and when I posted the test and reviews, my 3 graphics have shown fine.

Today I published it to another teacher's web area and the graphics don't work. Do I have to have the graphics in another folder now?

Graphics for an HTML test are stored in a folder that has the same name as the test file itself. Be sure to upload this folder along with your HTML file when you post the test.
