> Noprefs Startup Switch, Switches
Posted: Sep 14 2005, 12:26 PM

I am aware of the \testpath= and the \nobrowse startup switches for evplayer, both of which I currently use. In a previous question there was a reference to a \noprefs switch but I am unable to find it in the help section. I was wondering what this switch does?

The /noprefs switch for the EV player is new to ExamView 5.0.

If you include this switch, the ExamView Player will not write the preference settings to the local computer.

For example, you can re-size the window and the question entry area. Normally, this information is saved to the local computer so that the student does not have to re-size the window each time at start-up.

Some schools prefer to 'lock' down the student workstations. The /nopref option would prevent EV Player from saving any preferences to the local computer.
