I would like to have a link in powerpoint so I could just click on it and start quiz show and not have to go find the application during class. can you outline the steps necessary to create the links in OSX powerpoint?

There is nothing built into Quiz Show to help deploy from PowerPoint. You can launch the program from within PowerPoint as you would choose to launch any other application.
