I've been using MicroTest from Chariot Software for years and have hundreds of questions in test banks already. Our school system has adopted ExamView this year. Is there a way I can extract the records from those banks and import them into EV? My personal computer is a Mac using OS X, but I have access to WinPCs also. i'd like to end up with files I can use on my Mac with EV version 4.1.

If you can edit your Microtest files in Word you can reformat them and import them into ExamView on the Windows platform using our Import Utility. Once you have them in ExamView on the Windows platform, you can export them as an XML and then import them into Macintosh format.

Our Import Utility can be downloaded from our website:

I've tried to import questions into from micro test III and I cannot get ExamView to import. The error I'm getting is "root incorrect". I've tried to put the file in the ExamView folder with "no" success. Any suggestions?

Tests created using MicroTest are not compatible with ExamView.

If you can edit your Microtest files in Word you can reformat them and import them into ExamView on the Windows platform using our Import Utility.

Our Import Utility can be downloaded from our website:

Let me add my voice of disappointment. I, too, and a Microtest III user for years but must convert to ExamView for the Macintosh. Actually, I may resist making this conversion if it means I must type hundreds of questions by hand. Hey, FScreations - there is an educational market out here on the Macintosh! How about writing a conversion utility?

I agree with the last post. I just excitedly downloaded ExamView for the Mac, only to find that I cannot easily import my exams in Word format into Exam View without finding someone with a Windows version of the program. How hard can it be to write a Mac version of a Utility that converts between XML and RTF? I feel like I wasted $139.
