I want to use the bimodal option when importing an ExamView test into CPS. I have the RF pads and would like to make my students actually answer a question as opposed to selecting from a series of options. I have converted the questions I want to do this with in ExamView, but I cannot do a numeric response in the CPS software. I don't want to have to go back and rewrite every single question to get this accomplished. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to bring your bimodal questions into CPS as anything but Multiple Choice and you can only convert your bimodal question to Multiple Choice or Multiple Response from within ExamView. I'm afraid that your only option is to re-enter your questions as Numeric Response.

Thanks, that is what I was afraid of.

Has this been fixed yet? I have TONS of multiple choice questions that either I made or that came as a test bank from textbook publishers. I can get ExamView to remove the multiple choice part and list the question as short answer, so why shouldn't I be able to change "short answer" into "numeric response" so that the CPS software will tell the RF pads which type of input to use. Currently when I change the question to Numeric Response it turns back into a multiple choice question and I am no longer able to switch it back to bimodal.
I know I can make my own questions, but that seems like a big waste of time if there are already plenty of perfectly good questions there to use. Whatever issues may exist with how ExamView deals with bimodal questions vs regular numeric response questions, couldn't CPS create a setting for math teachers that would display all short answer questions as numeric response? |

If you have lots of multiple choice questions, why not leave them as multiple choice which is compatible from ExamView to CPS?
